How long has the company been in business? Look for a well established company.
- What type of warranty does the company offer? Look for a Lifetime Transferable Warranty. In some cases companies will offer this warranty with hidden fees.
- Ask the company if the solutions they offer will warranty against no future problems in the area treated. Some companies attempt to sell you a patch job which is financially more appealing. If you cannot afford what you need, wait.
- Does the company provide you with a written estimate that has been thoroughly explained in terms you understand?
- Is the company licensed, insured and bonded?
- Is the company insured up to at least $1,000,000?
- Does the company have solid credentials?
- Is the company listed with Dun and Bradstreet which watches the financial stability of companies? This is an indication of whether they will be around in the future.
- Does the company offer references? Ask to be provided with these letters.
- Does the company have national support and ongoing training?
- Does the company provide a thorough inside and outside inspection of your foundation?
- Does the company provide you with all the available solutions and explain each solution in detail?
- Is the company listed in the yellow pages?
- Are you comfortable with the way the company represents itself?
- When you call the company do you get an answering service or someone who can help you immediately?
- Is the company locally owned and operated?
- Is the company willing to work with little or no money down?
- Is the company B.O.C.A evaluated for waterproofing and not water collection?
- Is the company H.U.D evaluated?
- Is the company an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau? A company must be in business for 1 year before they can become a member and have been in business for 5 years before becoming accredited.
